WHAT WILL YOU EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION: We are building a dedicated solutions-driven team focused on defining complex, system solutions across the Enclosures segment. In this role, you'll play a key role in shaping innovative technology solutions, driving thought leadership, and advocating for the injection of new technologies into NPI roadmaps to support cross-segment solution opportunities for data centers, edge applications, and battery energy storage. Your contributions will be key in advancing the state-of-the-art and commercializing new products required to enable our targeted solutions. RESPONSIBILITIES: Smart Power Architect and Design: Collaborate with multi-functional teams to define, design, and architect sophisticated electro-mechanical systems incorporating various power distribution, server slide rail, mechanical systems, and monitoring/control technologies, and ensuring alignment to nVent Enclosure technology vision and goals. Develop strategies and methodologies for seamlessly integrating products and components within the system, addressing compatibility, reliability, and efficiency. Develop deep technical knowledge and understanding of existing product solutions. Conduct detailed analysis of customer requirements and translate them into comprehensive system-level specifications, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Identify potential risks and challenges associated with the system architecture, and develop mitigation plans to address them optimally. Be responsible for the prototyping and proof-of-concept activities, working closely within engineering to validate system functionality, performance, and reliability. Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the system ideation and design process. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including key leaders, product managers, vertical marketing leads, engineers, and project managers, encouraging a collaborative and innovative work environment. Build deep knowledge of industry trends and engage directly with customers for VOC; understanding application pains, and influencing potential target customers. Lead and develop small team of solution engineers to support systems specification, design, and development for commercialization. Establish thought leadership by fostering positive relationships with engineering leader peers and promote advanced technology solutions across the Enclosures segment New Technologies and Incubators: Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in key markets across the organization to find opportunities for incorporating new technologies into the architecture to improve system performance, or build meaningful system solutions by combining existing products with new innovations. YOU HAVE: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Ideally 10+ Years of experience in complex electro-mechanical engineered system design and development Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles, systems integration, component selection, and prototyping. Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges. Proven experience in providing leadership direction to multi-functional teams, providing technical mentorship, and driving projects to successful completion. Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills to work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships across departments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical collaborators. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced an dynamic environment, running multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Availability to work in overlapping time zones with the distributed team.
