Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Analyst in Madison, WI.Roles and Responsibilities:
Looking to supplement business side team
Data and python work to create a tool - main project - re-rate all of policies on current rates
Any extra time will be on SQL heavy/Data type projects
Mainly GCP world - in process of migrating from AWS (heavy file based with Athena) and moving to GCP (BigQuery and Looker)
Not only relationship tables but heavy file-based sources
Role added based on increased project work
Likely to extend but less likely to bring on internally
This project is a collab across a few different teams
The functional team is 3 people working on SMART a couple of peripheral folks as well - 5- 8 overall
This tool is feeding into a larger tool being built that sits across 3 different work teams
Will work with a wide range of GCP data engineers and actuaries
Need higher level Python experience - need to be able to enhance their current intermediate team - bare minimum 2 years
SQL and Python skills; Advanced enough on Python that can help the team when they run into issues
Experience pulling cloud data from various sources with Python and SQL; SQL to pull data from warehouse and Python to create a complex algorithm to combine the data
Prepping data for models or building data frames for models is the experience to target
We are not expecting them to be working on BI, but Google Looker may be helpful - not a major focus
GCP is not necessary - AWS and GCP have SQL based systems - GCP is preferred since it is the future
Any Insurance Business knowledge would be really helpful but not required - it is very important; If no insurance, then target financials or similar complex data, heavily regulated systems - grabbing, profiling, validating, etc.
Commercial experience would be a plus but anything in P&C will be transferrable to what we are doing
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
