Responsibilities
The Surgical First Assistant is responsible for assisting the physician throughout the intra-operative phase as well as contributing to the delivery of quality patient care by working with other surgical team members during the preoperative and immediate postoperative phases.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
Provides skilled assistance to the surgeon.
Assists with individual operating room set up
Assists with positioning prepping and draping the patient.
Communicates with the surgeon and health care team regarding patient’s condition
Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Certified Surgical Assistant or college degree in health related field with five years of first assisting experience
CSTFA National Certification AHA BCLS Tennessee Physician Quality Verification Organization
Effective verbal and written communication skills use of general patient care equipment ability to adapt to changes in health care technology demonstrates skilled assistance to the surgeon credentialing through the medical staff
Pay Range
$33.52 - $48.60 /hour
