Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the University Inn. This position is guaranteed 20 hours per week. As a RPT employee, you are eligible to earn annual and sick leave. "This is an open continuous announcement. The first cut-off date for this position will be Friday, 16 AUG 2024. Then every Friday thereafter until all positions are filled. Applications must be received by 11:59 PM on Cut-Off Date will be referred to the Selecting Official. " Responsibilities The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of simple cleaning tasks associated with lodging operations. The following are duties you may be required to accomplish but it is not all inclusive: Cleans lodging guest rooms, corridors, stairways, facilities, and other assigned lodging areas.- Cleans and sanitizes guest room appliances, cooking utensils and dishes.- Makes beds and changes linen. Collects soiled linen and places it at a pickup point.- Cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls.- Replaces deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels, soap, and other complimentary sundry items.- Keeps a stock of cleaning materials and equipment needed to do the work.- Notes condition of facilities and reports to supervisor broken windows, water leaks, clogged drains, and other conditions requiring maintenance. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty required to include nights, weekends and holidays. Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to frequently lift and empty wastebaskets; frequently pushing carts, weighing more than 100 pounds, loaded with dirty laundry or wastepaper; and occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds. Must be able to continuously stand, stoop, and reach for long periods of time. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions and be able to use hand or lightweight powered cleaning tools or equipment. Ability to frequently lift and empty wastebaskets, and occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds. Ability to continuously stand, bend, stoop, and reach for long periods of time Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.
