　　About This Role:

　　The custodial supervisor will provide leadership and direction to a teamof custodial specialist assigned with cleaning both living and learningspaces for students, faculty, staff and guests of the university. Theposition serves as a \"working supervisor\" and will perform custodialtasks as needed to provide support to the team and to meet expectedcleaning levels. The team provides both housekeeping and industrialcleaning services.

　　Housing and DiningServicesis a large, self-operated auxiliary department serving more than 4,000students that call the K-State campus home. This \"home away from home\"meets more than the basic needs of students living with us - we provideaffordable, safe and engaging accommodations for our residents, whilefinding unique ways to support them in their academic pursuits.

　　Duties and responsibilities include:

　　Provides supervision and leadership to a team performinghousekeeping/custodial duties.Trains, coaches, evaluates, interviews and selects employees.Serves as a \"working supervisor\" and actively participates incleaning duties performed by the housekeeping team.Instructs staff in the use and care of equipment and materials.Demonstrates and explains techniques.Assists custodial manager as needed in directing and training staff.Reviews work of staff to ensure proper levels of housekeeping andcustodial care meet or exceed expectations.Why Join Us:

　　Minimum Qualifications:

　　Requires a high school diploma and one year of relevant experience.Preferred Qualifications:

　　Five years of custodial experienceExperience as a supervisor/lead workerAbility to develop and maintain a cohesive, engaged workgroupKnowledge of materials and equipment used in housekeepingFamiliarity with industrial cleaning proceduresEffective written and oral communication skillsStrong organizational skillsOther Requirements:

　　Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United Statesat the time of employment.Moderate physical exertion is required to perform the essentialfunctions of the position.
