DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The Manager, Placement Stability, Department of Human Services (DHS), Office of Children, Youth and Families (OCYF), under the authority of the Manager, Operations, (OCYF), is responsible for managing the Office of Children, Youth and Families OCYF placement unit who are tasked with matching all children who enter shelter placement, reside in congregate care, or are in search of permanent homes to the most appropriated, least restrictive family setting. The incumbent is required to be available on weekends and during evening hours. The incumbent utilizes state/county policies, procedures, mandates, and directives to effectuate the oversight of the placement of children within the Placement Stability division.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides placement services for all children and youth in/or out of home care, by reviewing and evaluating cases in collaboration with CYF staff, in the planning, evaluation, administration and coordination for appropriate placement of children within the jurisdiction of Children, Youth and Families.
Determines the needs of children by using clinical skills, assessments, and tools to assist staff in making decisions regarding the needs for appropriate decisions in placement.
Tracks and administers referral processes and procedures to ensure that those needs are met.
Provides oversight by monitoring and reviewing the program planning, effectiveness, evaluation, analysis of the work of the CYF Matching Unit's Caseworker Supervisor's.
Provides oversight by evaluating, monitoring and analyzing existing data concerning the program effectiveness for children, youth and families and discusses any recommendations with the CYF SWAN Coordinator.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment.Work hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:Three years of experience in public or private social work which included one year in a public welfare program and one year in a supervisory capacity; and a bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences;orAny equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.Other Requirements:
