We are in search of a Country HR Leader to lead the HR partner team to develop and implement the talent and organization plans to enable the growth of Applied Materials China. The Country HR Leader also plays a key role in strengthening the employee experience to attract and retain the best talent for the organization. He/she will provide leadership and guidance for talent policies in accordance with local laws and best practices, and drive opportunities for continuous improvements of HR operations.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Partner with Country President and Country leadership team to define and implement a 3-5 year talent strategy, and roadmap for the overall site working across the various BUs
Lead or support the development and implementation of large-scale and country-wide programs that cuts across business units
Manage complexity of programs with multiple stakeholders including Business Leaders, global HR Partners, HR centers of excellence members and other relevant functional stakeholders.
Understands overall enterprise and BU strategies, business issues, priorities, challenges, and organizational, cultural and talent implications such as:
Leadership capabilities/pipeline building
Talent reviews and succession planning
Building and driving Manager capability
Identifying gaps/barriers in Culture & Purpose of the organization, building a plan to address
Serves as thought/expert partnership to leaders on HR processes and culture building, it’s effectiveness in delivering increased productivity and business results
Trusted advisor and coach to country president and the country leadership team to maximize executive leadership team effectiveness.
Serves as voice of the country and business groups internally for:
Inputs into Global HR policies /programs/philosophy
Special country considerations for needs for talent programs: e.g. Technical talent /New Colleague Graduates
Building a competitive Employer Value Proposition /leverage internal resources
Synthesize internal and external trends/data, conduct data analysis and generate evidence-based insights to shape innovative talent policies and targeted programs that address root causes and enhance employee engagement and experience
Decision Authority:
HR’s relationship with Country President and the Country / BU leadership team
Owns country HR policies and key programs working in collaboration with HR centers of excellence (COEs) and Global HR partners
Delivery of talent management strategy for the country across business/function

10+ years of business partnering experience
HR COE leadership experience
Non-HR / commercial (P&L) experience a plus
Leadership role in developing the HR strategy for a business /function
Developed multi-year talent and org strategies that drive competitive business success
Education
Bachelors degree required
Masters degree preferred, MBA a plus
