THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT FORT EISENHOWER MILITARY BASE. APPLiCANTS MUST BE DRUG FREE AND ABLE TO PASS A GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND CHECK.

Hourly Rate: $18.25/hour approximately 35 hours per week. Work hours will depend on building placement and weekends are required. We offer a full benefit package including sick leave, pension, dental and medical benefits after 30 days and two weeks vacation is offered after one year.
This posting is for anticipated open positions in seven day or 5 day dining facilities.
Work environment is fast paced and high volume. Typical meal can have a headcount of 400 - 1200 soldiers.
Job Description Cook III
General Nature of Work:
Under the management of the Dining Facility Manager, Assistant Dining Facility Manager, and the Cook I; Cook III's are responsible for working knowledge of cooking terms, cooking preparation procedures, and general knowledge of following a recipe card. Assists as directed in preforming assigned functions to ensure proper and timely preparation of the menu items. Under the direct supervision and receives all immediate instructions from the Cook I.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares food items using established recipe cards ensuring that all tasks are completed in accordance with standard operating procedures. Must be able to use standardized measuring cups, spoons, knives, forks, large kitchen utensils, pots and pans. Operate basic kitchen equipment: stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, tilt grill etc. Performs preliminary food preparation procedures. Sets up serving lines, garnishes food items, and serves customers on both the hot and cold line.
Prepares large quantities of grill items such as eggs cooked to order, French toast, steaks, fries, hamburgers and omelets.
As assigned by First Cook, will wash, cook, peel, slice or otherwise prepare fruits and vegetables for salads and makes salad dressing.
Reads and understands recipes, production schedules and other written directions by proper authority.
Serves customers at the direction of Cook I or managers for correct portions and menu combination.
Maintains sanitation standards on 'Clean As You Go' method.
Performs other duties as assigned by the managers or Cook I.
Physical Requirements:
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Stands and moves within the kitchen area for 6 to 7 hours (Excluding break and lunch periods)
Ability to bend and stoop for job duties.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
One year experience in food service.
Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend conversational English.
