  Job Description

  As the Hotel Controller, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations. Working closely with the executive team, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, implementing effective internal controls, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the overall success of the hotel.

  The hotel is a prestigious boutique hotel located in the heart of Washington, DC. With a commitment to excellence and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Hotel Controller to join our dynamic team. If you are a finance professional with a background in hospitality, payroll expertise, proficiency in forecasting and budgeting, and a knack for ensuring financial integrity, we want to hear from you.

  Job Responsibilities

  Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.Oversee payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment to all hotel employees.Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.Ensure compliance with accounting principles, hotel policies, and regulatory requirements.Collaborate with department heads to develop two annual budgets ? corporate and client.Proficiently create accurate financial forecasts based on industry trends, occupancy rates, and other relevant factors.Monitor budget performance and provide timely reports to management.Work towards cost optimization while maintaining high-quality service standards.Establish and maintain robust internal control procedures to safeguard hotel assets.Conduct periodic audits to assess the effectiveness of financial controls.Implement corrective actions as needed.Generate accurate and timely financial statements for management review.Prepare financial reports for external stakeholders, as required.Provide insightful analysis to support decision-making processes.Oversee payroll processing, ensuring compliance with labor laws and internal policies.Address payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies promptly.Stay informed about changes in payroll regulations and adjust processes accordingly.Supervise and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.Conduct training sessions to enhance the financial acumen of department heads and staff.

  Qualifications

  Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Proven experience as a Controller in the hospitality industry.Strong knowledge of hotel accounting software and financial systems.Expertise in payroll processing and compliance.Proficiency in forecasting and budgeting.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
