Description
Robert Half Management Resources is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller for an interim project with one of our financial service clients. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls of the organization. This role will involve managing a team of accounting professionals and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Fiserv Prologue and DNA systems, along with a strong background in financial management within the banking sector.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.
• Manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Maintain accurate and complete financial records in Fiserv Prologue and DNA systems.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
• Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop and monitor budgets.
• Provide financial analysis and forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
• Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets.
• Conduct regular reviews and assessments of internal controls to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
• Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role within the banking or financial services industry.
• Proficiency in Fiserv Prologue and DNA systems is required.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory requirements for financial institutions.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Superior attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
