Description Robert Half is looking for an ambitious Controller to join a well-respected services company. This leadership role oversees an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. What you get to do every day
Assure client expectations are met by reviewing deliverables of self and team
Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month
Perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities Requirements - Bachelors / Honours Degree required
Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
Financial auditing experience
Deep understanding of GAAP Accounting
Foundational knowledge in Supervisory management
Budget monitoring experience preferred
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Detailed and have the ability work independently
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
Skillful in analytical, quantitative and social skills
