JOB SUMMARY:
Draft, negotiate, and administer contract activities for domestic and international Textron Aviation Aftermarket customers. Responsible for contract processing procedures and activities, reviews contract requests and proposals, and serves in a liaison capacity across departments. Works closely with the customer, sales team, and any other involved company personnel to ensure effective working relationships and resolution of contract issues.May engage in contracts activities with Textron Aviation subtiers on a case-by-case basis.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works directly with sales and business teams to draft, negotiate and manage agreements and documents associated with the transaction of goods and services related to parts, aircraft/component maintenance and/or modification with specific emphasis on domestic and international state and federal entities.
Analyzes significant, and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions including FAR Part 12 and Part 15 flow downs to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and corporate policies and business unit procedure.
May be required to work with customer or outside attorneys to negotiate contract terms and language.
Responsible for mitigating company risk and compliance in the face of new and pre-existing laws.
Responsible for understanding the general terms and conditions of commercial and government contracts.
Prepares and administers routine commercial correspondence.
Provides guidance to ensure all contract activities comply with company policies and procedures.
Works as a communication bridge between in-house legal counsel, and other functional departments for resolution of contract issues and disputes throughout the contract life cycle.
May assist in new business pursuit and associated contract strategy.
Assists in identification, development and implementation of new contract policy and processes that bring value to the company and customer.
May mentor and train less experienced professionals.
May participate in development of less complex business alliances and partnering agreements.
Have a general understanding of the business case and an appreciation of financial/analytical issues and profit and loss implications.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Administration of domestic and international contracts from order placement through delivery.
Serve as primary interface between customers, company and applicable regulatory support departments/agencies as required to bring the contract to a successful conclusion.
Some travel may be required.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree required in Business or related field.· Minimum 2 years related work experience required.
Avionics sales, project management, or previous aviation industry experience preferred.QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to draft moderate to complex, non-routine contractual instruments.
Working knowledge of corporate policies and procedures, coupled with ability to identify required improvement to established policies.
Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations, contracting concepts, applicable public contract acquisition law and regulations, and applicable international contract law.
Good presentation, leadership and team-building skills.
Detail oriented, good organizational skills, ability to multitask on several projects and collaborate with other teammates.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
Use of independent judgment and creativity applied to resolution of contract issues.
Excellent internal and external negotiation skills.
Professional demeanor, excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with the public, customers and interdepartmental personnel.
Ability to travel, on occasion, both domestically and internationally.
