  DescriptionB.L. Harbert International (BLHI), a USA based international design-build, construction management, and general contracting company is looking for a Contracts and Claims Manager to work in the International Group Headquarters. Candidate will be primarily responsible for assisting Project Managers in the management of contracts in terms of negotiating contracts, writing contracts, interpreting contracts, claims management, resolving client and subcontractor related contract issues for various international project locations. Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and must possess the necessary construction related experience.

  Responsibilities:

  Proactively co-ordinates with all stakeholders, gathers data and compiles contract correspondence responses, variation requests/proposals for approval in compliance with the relevant contract terms, internal procedures and authorizationsPerforms contract management of prime contract and subcontract related mattersImplements change order management for prime contract and subcontracts - responsible for compiling price proposals in response to client generated requests```{=html}

  ```- Executes claims management - Preparation of claims in accordance with the contract and preparation of defense against incoming claims and creation of counter claims- Establishes entitlement, develops impacted schedule analysis, evaluates damages, delays impact analysis, standard care evaluations, productivity analysis, merit analysis, contract/entitlement analysis- Prepares extension of time claims, prolongation cost, acceleration cost by working with time scheduler, project manager, construction manager and other stakeholders

  ```- Establishes and enforces standard methodologies in contracts to identify, notify, enforce or defend changes/claims (passive/active) coming from / towards third parties- Creates overall awareness about contractual terms and conditions and ensures internal stakeholders understand relevant requirements- Maintains and updates claims and contract management related logs- Manages Prime Contract payment application- Manages Subcontractor payment application- Negotiates terms and conditions of major purchase orders- Manages Contract closeout documentation- Chairs and attends internal and external meetings with external contract partners- Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors, subcontractors and/or client counterparts- Other duties as assigned

  Requirements:

  US CitizenAbility to obtain and maintain a US Government Security ClearanceMinimum construction or engineering related bachelors degreeMinimum 5 years experience in a similar position or capacity on a large EPC construction projectExperience with MS Office Suite, Autodesk suites, Primavera P6Skills:

  Extensive experience of managing contracts and claims on commercial/industrial building projectsStrong working knowledge of construction contract conditions, design management, program and risk management, cost control including forecasting, actual cost and value reporting, construction schedulingStrong ability to write professional contract correspondenceExcellent English communication skill with clear and concise writing and presentation skillsExcellent people management skills with the ability to influence and mentorProblem solving skills and analytical thinkingCandidate shall be capable of writing, evaluating, negotiating purchase orders, subcontracts and defining appropriate terms and conditionsExperience with MS Office Suite, Autodesk suites, Primavera P6Good knowledge of construction management skills such as:Reading and understanding specificationsReading and understanding contract drawingsReviewing and understanding Construction schedulesKnowledge f Quantity Surveying requirementsKnowledge of Comprehensive Estimating in the Construction IndustryPreferences:

  Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Science, or related fieldPhysical Demands:
