The Center of Strategic Initiatives (CSI) at the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) coordinates and partners with stakeholders to identify, design, pilot, and elevate strategies that advance educational equity for Massachusetts students - particularly those traditionally or currently underserved.
The InSPIRED Fellowship connects current educators with DESE to help build and retain a culturally responsive and diverse educator workforce in MA schools. The Fellowship promotes education as a meaningful, rewarding career pathway. The Fellows leverage their backgrounds and personal connections to communicate their stories and issue calls to action to prospective teachers helping them understand their potential impact and persuade/encourage/them to enter the teaching workforce and positively impact PK-12 student outcomes.
We are looking to hire a contracted InSPIRED Fellowship program coordinator to support the recruitment, administration, and facilitation of the InSPIRED Fellowship. This position is aligned with the call to action that exists within the Commonwealth as this position integrates the Department's educational vision.
Job Responsibilities
• Promoting and marketing the fellowship while engaging with a variety of stakeholder groups including but not limited to high school students, families, teachers, college students, and community members.
Collaboratively develop and execute with the Department a marketing strategy for high school and college students while incorporating the passion, experience, and identity of the Inspired Fellows. This includes but is not limited to creating brochures, flyers, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
The contracted program coordinator will be responsible for scheduling, creating, and developing a culturally responsive professional development training series that will provide the Fellows with best practices for conducting outreach to high school and college students through in-person events, virtual events, and social media outreach.
The contracted program coordinator will be responsible for interviewing and onboarding up to 25 Fellows into the program.
The contracted program coordinator will be responsible for conducting a pre-and post-survey to evaluate the Fellows' experiences.
The contracted program coordinator will be responsible for supervising and giving constructive feedback to Fellows.
The contracted program coordinator will be responsible for attending all fellowship events and managing the logistical and communication aspects of the fellowship, ensuring the attendance of Fellows at events, and scheduling recruitment events with school districts and institutions of higher education.

• Demonstrated experience in developing presentations, coaching/mentoring teachers, and recruiting aspiring educators.

This is a part - time contracted position, 22.5 - 30 hours per week, through 6/30/2024. This position will follow our hybrid schedule of at least 2 days in the office . The extension of this contracted position is contingent upon funding availability and approval.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications required at hire:
• Strong program or project management experience with extraordinary attention to detail, professionalism, ability to organize, plan, and support multiple stakeholder groups simultaneously
• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required along with at least five years of leadership experience within the education field.
• Exceptional relationship builder with an unusual ability to understand clients' motivations and concerns and proactively address them.
• Excellent critical thinking with the ability to analyze and synthesize a multitude of information into a cohesive whole.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; Google Suite; proficiency in developing/maintaining websites.
• Strong program or project management experience with extraordinary attention to detail,
professionalism, ability to organize, plan, and support multiple stakeholder groups simultaneously.
