Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Leader to join the Starline Team in Canonsburg, PA.
The Continuous Improvement Leaders will support Starline Global Operations and reports to the Global Manager, Operational Excellence. This position is responsible for leading global and site-specific continuous improvement initiatives by ensuring strategies are implemented, and principles/practices/tools are incorporated in the culture and processes under transformation. This position implements and supports actions that bring about improvements which may include, but are not limited to safety, customer value proposition, quality, delivery, cycle, growth, margin expansion, and inventory.
Main Responsibilities:
Lead weekly and monthly cross-functional, global Continuous Improvement meetings.
Act as a change agent and thought leader to bring improvements to all Starline sites through active support, facilitation and leadership of Kaizen events, projects and “just do its”
Supervise other Continuous Improvement resources on the Global OpEx Team
Drive Lean culture by training, coaching, and mentoring various resources on the Legrand Way and other lean manufacturing tools and processes.
Lead annual brainstorming sessions to build and maintain factory productivity project decks for all Starline sites and associated savings tracking (in partnership with finance)
Continually analyze data, identify areas of opportunity and target “Lean” events to support business goals.
Assist in annual Operations Strategy development, deployment, and execution.
Coach and advocate for the Legrand Values to all employees
Provide regular updates to leadership and other parts of the organization on various CI initiatives.
Track improvements made to provide assurance that changes are effective and sustainable.
Implement tactical strategies to achieve the desired company and operations visions.
Work with necessary personnel to identify, address, and eliminate process related obstacles.
Assist in the change systems/processes as required in support of the lean initiatives.
Utilize value stream mapping techniques to design optimal information, material, and flow methodology.
Lead engineered labor standards development and associated maintenance.
Support other initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must possess strong written and oral communication and presentation skill with the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences
Ability to effectively facilitate activities and discussions using a defined process
Ability to write reports, general business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to create standard work document
Ability to travel 10-25% (including International)
Interpersonal Skills:
Must be a self-motivated learner
Ability to energize and motivate teams
Facilitate change from a position of an influencer
Ability to lead without direct authority
Capability to recognize conflict and take action within scope of the role
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problem areas, collect data, and establish facts
Ability to interpret a variety of technical processes
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced and changing work environment
Computer Skills:
Strong capability with personal computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
LaborPro or similar engineered labor standards development applications)
Infor Syteline or similar ERP system
Experience:
Three to Five years of experience supporting Lean/CI activities in an industrial manufacturing or engineer-to-order manufacturing environment.
People management
Lean Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt)
Experience leading Kaizen events and providing lean trainings
History of successful productivity improvements across the supply chain
Experience in a world class lean environment in preferred
Operations or Engineering background is preferred
Experience developing and maintaining engineered labor standards utilizing a predetermined motion time system is preferred
Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering or related technical field. (Equivalent education/experience will be considered)
Knowledge of basic lean concepts and continuous improvement tools
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where, under certain areas, the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection are required.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
Able to lift and carry up to 25lbs
