Consultant - Travel Model Planning and Applications

RSG seeks a talented and versatile travel model developer and applications consultant and project manager to assist with the development of transportation models and data analytics.
AS A CONSULTANT
You oversee the development and application of aggregate and disaggregate travel demand models for RSG-s transportation clients in the public and private sectors. Your work involves managing the model development process and overseeing all areas of model development - model design, model estimation, model implementation, model calibration and validation, sensitivity testing, documentation, and training. You oversee and troubleshoot scripts and programs written to implement models in Python, Cube script, and/or TransCAD GISD-K. You develop innovative simulation-based tools including population synthesizers, activity-based models, tour-based models, dynamic traffic assignment tools, and vehicle fleet simulations. You develop tools to summarize observed data including travel survey data, as well as analyze and visualize model outputs. You help strategize new markets and opportunities for RSG's services, develop client relationships, pursue new work, develop scope, budget and schedule, and manage work to the client's satisfaction. You manage and mentor analysts and other team members, and present information in clear, meaningful, and dynamic (e.g., web-accessible) ways. You are a senior member of a team dedicated to delivering quality work to public and private organizations throughout the US and beyond.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree or higher in engineering, planning, geography, statistics, economics, or a similarly relevant field of study
4-8 years of professional experience in transportation modeling and/or transportation data analysis and simulation
Scripting experience with Python, R, or similar
Experience with choice modeling theory and model estimation
Experience with scripting in commercial travel demand software, including Cube, TransCAD, EMME or Visum and typical input preparation including transport networks, socioeconomic data at the zonal scale, and similar data
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and on a team
Experience with or interest in project management
Effective in a variety of communication settings: one-to-one and in groups; with peers, supervisors, and clients; in-person and long-distance
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Activity-based, tour-based, or agent-based travel demand model development or applications experience
Experience with GitHub and file/tool version control, issue tracking, testing, etc.
Experience with and understanding of database and statistical software
Proficiency in programming languages with Python, R, Java, C#, C++, or similar
Desire and ability to keep appraised of and apply innovations in travel demand model development
