  What You Will Do :

  Guidehouse’s Energy Transition team works with energy companies, global corporations, financial institutions, and governments to deliver on, understand, and prepare for the transition of the energy system, resulting from emerging new technologies, decarbonization pressures, adaptation to climate events and/or extreme weather events, decentralization of the energy system, and digitalization of processes. We support our clients as they envision and prepare for this future by combining our market knowledge, objective modeling capabilities, and deep technical skills with strategic perspectives on the energy transition. Within Guidehouse’s Energy Transition team, we specialize in providing solutions and services that cater to the needs of the energy providers clients in the planning, engineering, and operations of their transmission and distribution (T&D) systems. These services are provided by the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Technical Services team,

  As Consultant in the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Technical Services team, you will follow a clearly defined career path to continue to deepen your specialized industry knowledge and consulting skills. As you develop project management skills and leadership abilities, you will have the opportunity to progress to the Senior Consultant level.

  As a Consultant in Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Technical Services team, you will work to create and present client deliverables that support essential project workstreams. You will gather and analyze data, identify gaps and trends, and make recommendations to support our clients. In addition, you will support technical teams in setting up models and performing technical studies based on the clients’ needs.

  Key responsibilities for this position may include:

  Data collection, analysis and cleanup

  Power system (T&D) modeling and data model setup for technical studies

  Reviewing technical studies, methodologies, and study results

  Fact-finding, research, and analysis, particularly around emerging trends and technologies related to T&D

  Reviewing new and evolving industry methodologies and/standards

  Project documentation, including report writing and PowerPoint deck development

  Communicating solutions and new strategies to clients and stakeholders

  What You Will Need :

  Minimum Years of Experience: 0 years

  Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Power Systems) - must still be enrolled in an accredited degree program in 2023 and graduate by Summer of 2024

  Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the country

  No sponsorship is available for this position

  What Would Be Nice To Have :

  Graduate Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Power Systems) -

  Experience in power system modeling and analysis during the course of study and/or from other internships/work experience (e. g., power flow analysis, economic dispatch analysis)

  Experience in using power system analysis tools (e. g., Power System Simulator for Engineering - PSS/E, Positive Sequence Load Flow - PSLF) during the course of study and/or from other internships/work experience

  Familiarity with economic and financial analysis and research

  Experience working in teams to produce high-impact work products, reports, and other deliverables in a fast-paced environment

  Possesses strong oral and written communication skills

  Heightened attention to detail

  Excellent interpersonal skills with an interest in learning more about the energy transition

  The annual salary range for this position is $54,300.00-$81,500.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
