[Wayne Brothers, Inc. headquartered at 357 Concrescere Parkway Davidson, North Carolina 28036 phone number: (704) 361-9780, is looking to fill twenty (20) Concrete Laborer positions from 04/01/2024 to 10/31/2024. This is for full-time, peak-load temporary employment. Duties include Concrete Laborer will tend water pumps, compressors, or generators to provide power for tools, machinery, or equipment. Workers will lubricate, clean, or repair machinery, equipment, or tools. Workers will signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials. Workers will clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards. Workers will dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications, using shovels, rakes, and compaction equipment. Workers will load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to appropriate locations, according to plans and specifications. Workers will position, join, align, manufactured or job built concrete forms on grade, at prescribed elevation, vertically and horizontally, using saws, hammers, pry bars, nails, bolts, or manufactured assembly equipment. Workers will control construction equipment and jobsite vehicular traffic near, in or around work zones. Workers will place, compact, screed, freshly poured concrete, using floats, trowels, screeds, or powered concrete finishing tools. Workers will erect and dismantle concrete framework, scaffolding/ shoring and other temporary structures, salvage and organize reusable materials. Workers will provide assistance to craft workers, such as carpenters, equipment operators, concrete finishers. Workers will install embedment's, anchor bolts, weld plates, dowels, and metals. Workers will chip, scrape, grind concrete surfaces as required to meet concrete surface finish requirements. Workers will cut out damaged unacceptable areas, drill holes for reinforcing, position reinforcing as required to repair and restore concrete surfaces to meet project specifications. Must be able to lift and carry up to 90 lbs. Workers must perform frequent lifting, bending, kneeling, and reaching above and below the shoulders. Exposure to seasonal temperatures as the work is generally outdoors.
[Employees will be paid $24 per hour up to $28 per hour, with weekly pay periods, and an overtime rate of $36 per hour up to $42 per hour, based on the hourly rate. [54 hours per week from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday, Occasionally Saturdays. Returning workers and workers with experience may be paid higher wage rates. Job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position. Daily travel to worksites in the area of intended employment is required. The requested temporary workers will be based at NUCOR Lexington 766 New Cut Rd Lexington, NC 27292, and will service clients within the Winston-Salem, NC, Mountain North Carolina nonmetropolitan area, Piedmont North Carolina nonmetropolitan area, Greensboro-High Point, NC, Durham-Chapel Hill, NC, Raleigh, NC, Burlington, NC, Hickory-Lenoir-Morganton, NC, including the counties of Davidson County, Davidson, Ashe, Alleghany, Surry, Stokes, Rockingham, Caswell, Person, Granville, Wake, Durham, Orange, Alamance, Guilford, Forsynth, Yadkin, Wilkes, Watauga, Caldwell, Alexander, Iredell, Davie, Randolph, Chatham, Lee, Harnett, Cumberland, Robeson, Hoke, Moore, Montgomery, Stanley, Cabarrus, Rowan, Catawba, Burke, Cleveland, Lincoln, Gaston, Mecklenburg, Union, Anson, Richland, Scotland, Marlboro, Chesterfield, Kershaw, Lancaster, York, Chester, Cherokee. Employer provides transportation to and from all worksites.
[Single workweek will be used in computing wages due. Pay period is Weekly. Employer will not provide housing but will assist with finding housing. Additionally, employer will provide worker with an additional $125 per working day to assist in paying for housing.[ The employer will make any deductions required by law.[[Transportation, including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging, to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed by a company check, separate from the payroll check, if the worker completes half of the employment period. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will arrange and pay directly for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back to home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economically and reasonable common carrier for the distance involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.46 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. Reimbursement in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker (but not included passport expenses or other charges primarily for the benefit of the worker). The employer will provide worker, at no charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job and on the job training in the proper use of tools and equipment. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period only to the extent that this guarantee is enforced by the Department of Labor. As of the date of this posting, the three-fourths guarantee is not enforced.
