Career Opportunity
We are currently seeking candidates for an Operations Specialist. This position provides expertise in operations, strategy, doctrine, and tactics while supporting and managing many aspects of the exercise life cycle process for the US Fleet Forces Command located in Norfolk, VA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as COMSEC Local Element (LE) and properly account for, store, issue, inventory, destroy, and safeguard COMSEC material provided.
Support Command Key Management Infrastructure Operating Account Manager with administrative activities, briefings, reports, and/or meetings.Create and retain the required accounting documentation (e.g., Local Custody Issue and local destruction records).Follow written instructions issued by the parent or servicing COMSEC account governing the handling, accountability, and disposition of COMSEC material.Conduct training to ensure that all personnel handling COMSEC material are familiar with and adhere to proper COMSEC procedures. Document role-based training in accordance with command directives. Ensure users have the proper clearance and are authorized to access COMSEC material by administering an SD-572 Form.Incorporate emergency action and/or emergency destruction procedures (as applicable) for COMSEC material into the commands Emergency Action Plan.Report immediately to the LE CO and the parent or servicing COMSEC Account Manager, any known or suspected COMSEC incidents or violations.Ensure alternate LEs Issuing personnel are equally responsible with the primary LEC Issuing and are able to properly manage COMSEC material and requirements in the absence of the primary LEC Issuing.Submit updated appointment letters, access lists, and copies of required briefings executed to the supporting CAM, as applicable.Issue COMSEC material on local custody forms after verifying the recipient is properly cleared, authorized to hold COMSEC material, and has executed an SD-572 Form.Complete formal training prior to appointment and complete applicable Personnel Qualification Standards commensurate with the position held, i.e., LE.Must be available to support nonstandard work shifts as required by system test schedules/events, standard work shift is 0800-1600.
Collateral Duties and Responsibilities
Support general end-user IT/system administration functions such as Microsoft Windows OS and desktop applications (Adobe, Microsoft Office, etc.) troubleshooting.Facilitate NMCI Non-classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNet) and Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet) desktop/printer hardware troubleshooting.Facilitate authorization and creation of all NMCI NIPRNet and SIPRNet account requests and serve as SIPRNet Trusted Agent for AEGIS TECHREP.Serve as SIPRNet Media Transfer Agent to facilitate SIPRNet data transfers for end-users.Facilitate Apple iPhone assignment/configuration for end-users via Enterprise applications.Support Incident Response activities in response to security incidents.
Education, Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Associate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or other relevant technical degree, OR a minimum of two years of experience in information technology (IT) or related field.CompTIA Network+ and/or A+ certified.Prior COMSEC experience supporting Contractors or DoD agencies.Must meet IAT Level II (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent).Familiarity of Apple iOS mobile platform.Familiarity with networking principles, network devices (switches, routers, etc.), and network cabling.Familiarity with printers, fax machines, and multi-function devices.Strong customer service skills.Strong oral communication and writing skills.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and complete tasks within short time periods.Established IT-level familiarity with traditional computing devices and environments (desktops/laptops), specifically Windows OS and desktop applications (Adobe, Microsoft Office, etc.)
Qualifications
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.Physical Requirements:
