SUMMARY
The role of the Community Service Coordinator is to perform a variety of administrative, technical, and professional functions in order to plan, organize and direct the functions, activities and programs of the District Attorney's Community Service Program, particularly as it relates to court-ordered community service. This position will oversee the daily operations of the program while actively developing, planning, and implementing short-term and long-term projects with a wide variety of organizations (non-profits, community organizations, and governmental agencies) to enforce the community service conditions set forth by the Court in ARD or DUI sentences, with the ultimate goal of increasing the successful rate of completion of court-ordered community service. As part of the duties, this position is required to conduct on-site supervision of those completing community service hours, which often occurs outside of regular business hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, plan, promote, implement, and review a wide range of community service projects with other public and private organizations;Seek local community organizations and non-profits willing to allow volunteers who have been court-ordered to perform community service;Screen community service sites for approval and maintain and regularly update approved list;Develop strong, effective working relationships within the community to foster a positive image;Schedule and coordinate all defendants completing community service hours, from acceptance through completion of all requirements;Directly supervise on-site defendants completing community service hours;Efficiently manage the documentation process, calendaring, and data collection pertaining to defendants entering a community service program;Prepare bi-annual reports (including demand fulfillment and active participation) to track and gauge the success rate of completion of court-ordered community service;Develop strategies to incentivize defendants to complete their court-ordered community service; Respond to inquiries from defendant, their attorneys, and the general public regarding community service resources;Develop strategies and techniques to promote the public's involvement in local community service activities and projects.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or GED equivalency certificate;```{=html}
```- Administrative assistance experience preferred;- One or more years of experience as a Service Coordinator with knowledge of code enforcement issues, correctional rules and regulations, and non-profit labor needs;

```- Familiarity with 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations and community groups;- Valid Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's license or ability to obtain one;- Ability to work Saturdays and Sundays. Although the work schedule will vary depending on the projects taking place, Saturdays and Sundays WILL be part of the scheduled work week;- Willingness to listen to others and demonstrate an understanding of other points of view;- Ability to communicate in an articulate, professional way; - Ability to delegate effectively, without abdicating authority;- Ability to communicate and work with a broad, diverse and varied population;- Ability to work under pressure;- Ability to operate various types of tools.
