The Community Health Educator promotes and improves individual and community health by providing health education in group, classroom, and one-on-one settings for a variety of age groups on a range of related topics; participates in community outreach activities focused mainly on identified community needs and at-risk populations; collects and analyzes data to identify community needs; plans, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs designed to encourage healthy lifestyles, environments, and sexual/reproductive health. Assists in developing TOI's social media content on different media platforms, ensuring that content adheres to TOI's brand and voice.<P>Job Requirements:<LI> Develops and implements education and outreach services in accordance with regulations set forth by the funding source<LI> Evaluates education/outreach program operations and recommends changes in organization and procedures as required to meet program objectives<LI> Assures that standards for delivery of educational programs are met<LI> Coordinates education and outreach services with other community programs to promote comprehensive services and to prevent the duplication of services<LI> Develops and provides tailored community education programs on family planning/human sexuality issues and related life-skills<LI> Develops and provides tailored community education programs on healthy behaviors that promote overall wellness<LI> Prepare and distribute health education materials and aids, including pamphlets, postcards, handouts, video/audio clips, images, and/or posters<LI> Works with the Public Relations Coordinator to plan advertising and marketing strategies for Family Health Clinic services and programs<LI> Collaborates with the Public Relations Coordinator to identify, conceptualize, design, and execute campaigns to boost engagement, educate and inform TOI's audience<LI> Helps create content calendars, develop and distribute text and video-based content, monitors social media channels and supports promotional and marketing efforts<LI> Responds to user comments, messages, and inquiries on the agency's different social media accounts and directs inquiries to appropriate staff as needed<LI> Collects analytics to optimize content, track user traffic, and assess user response to different content posted<LI> Develops the community and public information portion of the annual work plan for the Family Planning Program<LI> Compiles and uses records, reports, and statistical information for evaluation and planning purposes<P>Minimum Education and Experience:<LI> Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Health Science, Health Education, Community Health Education or related field is required; OR<LI> Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate's Degree in Health Science, Health Education, Community Health Education, or related field plus two years related experience;<P>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:<LI> Well-developed verbal and written communication and public speaking skills<LI> Proficiency in social media usage<LI> Strong writing skills to create content and to communicate via email with external partners<LI> Analytical skills are essential to analyze data and draw conclusions<LI> Creativity to work on marketing campaigns<LI> Ability to work both independently and cooperatively with others<LI> Well-developed organizational skills<P>Requirements:<LI> Drug screening<LI> Reference check<LI> Background investigation
