Job Summary
Responsible for meeting and exceeding commercial lines quotes and sales goals, while profitably managing an assigned group of agents across the state of Massachusetts. Ensures that MAPFRE Insurance establishes and maintains a strong position for ourcommercial lines of business and works in concert with Personal Lines Business Development Representative in overall management of agencies in the assigned territory.
Develops strong working relationship with commercial lines agency managers and producers. Negotiates growth targets, establishes sales strategies, and monitors agency progress to goal. Prospects assigned territory for commercial lines agency appointments and book transfers that meet MAPFRE Insurance standards.
Participates in agency onboarding and routine training of products and systems for new or existing agents. Informs Business Development Management of issues that impair agency progress toward established goals.
Supports and works closely with CL Underwriting in identifying potential new accounts, following up with agents to help convert quotes, and pipelining lost or previously unconverted business.Staysabreast of industry trends as it relates to commercial lines, and serves to keep agency updated on new company products.
Participates on various committees as needed to discuss new business opportunities, rate and/or product changes. Collects and shares competitive data with the technical team.
Compensation range based on experience includes salary plus variable compensation plan. Salary range: $85,000 - $120,000 yearly Location will target Central MA but open.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education: Bachelor's Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent, related experience.
Experience: 4 - 6 years - or Associates Degree equivalent plus 6 - 8 years.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Commercial Lines Marketing experience required, Underwriting, CPCU and/or other Industry designations beneficial.
Responsible for meeting and exceeding commercial lines quotes and sales goals.
Responsible for managing CL agency assignments and promotion/marketing/training of MAPFRE CL Products and Services. Must be able to clearly articulate what is within or outside of our CL Underwriting appetite. Responsible for achievement of budgetary goals for production.
Works closely with CL Underwriting to help deepen agency relationships, build strong partnerships, and drive opportunities for growth through new business and pipeline management.
Works with internal teams as needed to develop business solutions. Gathers, develops, and shares competitive industry data.
Works with Personal Lines BDR on overall agency management at senior executive/principal level and leverages Personal Lines relationship to drive CL opportunities.
