We're looking for a mission-driven Coach, SmartLife & Assistive Technology Programs who is passionate about creating more accessible, inclusive, and equitable communities across Canada where people with low vision have unlimited opportunities and can experience life free from barriers and discrimination.
Your Impact at CNIB
Recruit, engage, and lead an integrated workforce of students, volunteers, etc.
Develop and integrate creative programs to engage SmartLife participants with existing and new SmartLife accessible technologies.
Educate participants of the current accessible high-tech solutions that are the future and the present through hands-on and virtual demonstrations and product testing groups.
Grow the knowledge base of existing and new participants through coordination of regularly planned and facilitated learning workshops; virtual and in-person demonstrations of products; 1:1 consultations; participant 1:1 coaching; and new tech deployment training.
Manage all referrals in Ontario for the Phone it Forward Program. Manage the waitlist, follow up with clients to deploy a smart device, and track all activities.
Collaborate with the National SmartLife team to develop and execute marketing strategies that engage and inform participants and promote new and emerging technology solutions, technology programs and technology initiatives through CNIB SmartLife Centers.
Keep abreast of best practices and new developments in programming for people who are blind, and proactively bring forward ideas on how to improve all aspects of the work we do.
Develop and steward strong and effective partnerships with community organizations that are aligned to and/or can help further our mission, including other service delivery organizations, funding agencies, etc.
Work closely with CNIB’s Philanthropy team to maximize donor investment in this program– providing information and support for various types of appeals and impact reports, and liaising directly with prospective and existing donors to secure, retain and upgrade their philanthropic and/or volunteer support.
Represent CNIB SmartLife at regional accessible technology tradeshows virtually or in-person.
Who you are:
Education and Certifications
Degree or diploma in related field, or equivalent work experience.Experience and Qualifications
3 - 5 years’ experience with accessible and assistive technologies, program development and implementation, retail sales, and excellent customer service provision.
Extensive experience in training people with vision loss on utilizing accessible and assistive technologies.
Experience in developing and delivering training workshops and presentations.
Personal and/or professional experience relating to blindness and vision loss and associated assistive technologies.
Volunteer engagement and staff leadership experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and organization skills.
Strong understanding of and demonstrated track record of product sales and exceptional customer service provision.
Extensive knowledge in accessibility and adaptive technologies.
Strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of Salesforce and Shopify Point-of-Sale considered an asset.
