POSITION SUMMARY: The CNC Programmer will write and maintain equipment programs, support technical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance schedules. They will support various equipment programming that includes Bystronic, BLM, Onsrud, MultiAx and Zund programming.Participate on product teams during new product development with emphasis in manufacturability and efficiency.Write and manage CNC programs including daily nests for operations.Evaluate and improve existing CNC programs to improve repeatability and quality.Develop detailed setup and work instructions where applicable.Ability to read and interpret complex drawings including a clear understanding of geometric tolerancesProficient in CAD tools such as but not limited to Solid WorksResearch and recommend CNC technology (equipment & software)Participate or lead program prove out for error checking and run time reduction
Train backup and support personnel.Use all safety devices/tools to ensure safe operationEnsure work area is kept clean and always organizedAll other duties as assignedMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or equivalentCertificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus.Two to four years of work experience.
SKILLS REQUIRED:Proficient in related CNC programming software or ability to learn and apply skills quickly.Skilled in operating machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools.Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents, blueprints and drawings.Ability to communicate effectively.Mechanical aptitude and good math skills.The ideal candidate will be dependable, ready to take on responsibility, willing to learn, results driven and work independently as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS:Plant environment with occasional discomfort due to dust, noise, fumes, and temperature.Normal office environment with frequent visits to production floor.Extended work hours occasionally required.Keyboarding and computer use are frequently required.Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 35 pounds may be required.Work frequently requires attention to details, pressures related to deadlines, scheduling requirements and simultaneous projects.
