  Description:

  Manufacturer in Elkhart, IN is searching for CNC Lathe Machinists.

  The facility manufactures components for fire fighting equipment. Products include: handline nozzles, apparatus valves/fittings, industrial valves, adapters, caps, plugs, etc.

  Shift Hours:

  1st shift: 6:55am to 2:55pm

  2nd shift: 2:55pm to 10:55pm

  3rd shift: 10:55pm to 6:55am

  Openings/Pay:

  2ND SHIFT: Bar Feeder Lathe (Okuma): $24.50/hr + $2.50/hr shift premium ($27/hr)

  2ND OR 3RD SHIFT: Single-Turret/Spindle Lathe (Doosan): $23/hr + $2.50/hr shift premium ($25.50/hr)

  1ST OR 3RD SHIFT: Twin-Turret/Spindle Lathe (Okuma): $24/hr + $2.50/hr shift premium ($26.50/hr)

  Job Duties:

  Setup and operation of CNC Lathe machining centers-- There will be 1 to 3 setups a shift (anywhere from 20 to 200 parts per run)

  -- Okuma-Howa Lathes (types: Bar Feeder Lathes, Single and Double Turret Lathes, Index Chuck, Custom-Thread Lathe, etc.)

  -- Candidate will be running 2 machines simultaneously (very do-able with the usual run time durations)

  Utilization of micrometers and calipers to ensure parts are within client specifications-- Mounting, installing, aligning, and securing tools, attachments and fixtures on machines (with hand tools and mics/cals)

  Reading, understanding, and editing programs for Bar Feeders

  Preventative maintenance on CNC lathes based on work schedule

  Ability to hold a tolerance of +/- .001

  Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  Must Have

  2+ years of setup, operation, etc. of CNC Lathe machinery

  Ability to do minor edits of CNC lathe (bar feeder)

  Ability to change tooling and make adjustments to CNC Lathe

  Would Be Nice:

  Programming experience

  Swiss lathe experience

  Job shop

  Experience Level:

  Intermediate Level
