Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Clinical Operations Manager will provide oversight and direction of the daily operations for the Wasserman Neurosurgery clinic; this includes administrative activities and patient care services. Develops and implements policies and procedures for the quality improvement of the clinic, while ensuring policies for the University and Department are followed, including adherence to CICARE standards. The Clinical Operations Manager will co-manage all patient care coordinators for provider practices. Managerial functions include, but are not limited to: recruitment, supervision and training of staff, and support for day-to-day operations, serving as an intermediary for questions and issue resolution; daily monitoring and the development of effective administrative systems for the delivery of patient care. Interfaces with patients, physicians, employees, and others; building positive relationships throughout each interaction. Must multi-task between identifying areas for improving patient relations, ensuring that quality control standards are met while providing extensive personalized customer service, executing Patient Experience activities, business intelligence data dashboards, and process improvement projects. Implement office systems for monitoring and continuous improvement of efficiency, quality of work, and customer service. Assure administrative coverage for all aspects of practice. Serves as a liaison with other departments and operating units in the resolution of day-to-day clinical activities, PCC and the PDL line, and manages the department OR, blocking times at all OR locations.
Salary Range: $64800.00 - $137600.00 AnnuallyQualifications
Required:
5 + years of experience in a clinical, health care setting with 1- year in a neurosurgery clinic.
Knowledge of neurosurgery terminology in order to complete necessary reports and forms
Demonstrated working knowledge of administrative and business practices and procedures in a large-scale, complex organization, preferably a university environment.
Ability to identify and define complex problems and develop and implement solutions for quality and process improvement.
Experience with managing patient care activities in a medical practice or hospital facility
Experience with and thorough understanding of medical billing procedures
Strong organizational and prioritization skills to effectively coordinate and promote the patient care activities of the practice
Experience in organizing workflow to accomplish established objectives, training staff, evaluating staff effectiveness, while adhering to negotiated personnel contracts
Skill in setting goals which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities and the strategic priorities of the clinic
Computer and writing skills sufficient to develop financial and administrative reporting systems and to compose correspondence that communicates analytically, logically and concisely using correct grammar, punctuation and spellingWorking knowledge to effectively manage and report practice collections, employee time and attendance and manage risk within University policies, procedures and operational resources
Proficient in process improvement and system redesign
Capacity to proceed with own initiative using independent judgment and discretion to solve problems.

Working knowledge of University policies and procedures to appropriately manage accounting systems, cashiering, risk management and personnel
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and web-based database programs.
Skill in analyzing information, problems, situations and procedures to define objectives, identify patterns and formulate conclusions
Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities
Skill in speaking on a one-to-one basis with persons of various cultural, economic backgrounds to obtain information and explain procedures, interpret instructions
Skill in using various computer spreadsheet software to compile data and complete necessary reports
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with other staff members, subordinates, administrators and physicians
Experience in supervising staff, including recruitment, training, delegating, evaluating, developing, and counseling/disciplining when necessary.
Ability to perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload and with frequent interruptions and distractions
Skill in organizing material, information and people in a systematic way to optimize efficiency and minimize duplication of effort
Preferred:
Knowledge and skill in using the UCLA Medical Center computerized patient scheduling and registration system (Care Connect)
Bilingual English/Spanish language skill
