At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Systems Engineer Advisor you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on Systems Engineer Advisor joining our team to maintain and modernize classified Citrix systems and infrastructure for the Department of State.
HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Independently provides technical interpretation and solutions in the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures.
Troubleshoots system hardware and software specific issues.
Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
Ensures workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions.
Independently ensures data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
Conducts hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
Ensures that performance and security of computers meet the needs of network users.
Applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.
May evaluate existing systems and assist with planning long-term strategies.
Provides troubleshooting support for system hardware and software issues that are highly complex in scope.
Applies advanced knowledge in monitoring and tuning the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
Provides guidance to less experienced personnel on workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions.
Conducts advanced to complex hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
Ensures that performance and security of computers meet the needs of network users. Uses extensive independent judgement and is unsupervised.
Recognized subject matter expert in job area typically through advanced education and work experience. Manages large projects with limited oversight from manager.
Evaluates and assesses existing systems and plans long-term strategies.
May coach and review the work of less-experienced professionals.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science or equivalent work experience
● Required Experience: 8+ years of related experience with a minimum of 4 years of Citrix administration experience
● Required Technical Skills:
Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops v7.15 and later
Experience with provisioning Citrix Services
Experience with Citrix NetScaler/ADC
● Security Clearance Level: Minimum of current active Interim Secret and clearance to TS level
● Required Skills and Abilities: Strong communications skill and ability to work as a team to determine root cause and develop and implement solutions
● Required Certification: Citrix Certified Professional Virtualization CCP-V) (or ability to gain certification)
● Location: Washington DC (currently a hybrid schedule)
