Merrick & Company is seeking a Civil Engineer with experience in design andconstruction oversight of water and wastewater infrastructure to join ourWater Group in our Greenwood Village, CO office.Job DescriptionPerform assignments in the analysis and design of water and wastewatersystems.Prepare and review working drawings, details, layouts, cost estimates,studies, reports and work products.Position also involves providing construction support and oversight includingadministration and limited inspection, document review of designs by othersfor conformance of design standards and support to municipal water and seweroperations and maintenance.Must be capable of performing independent design tasks, reviewing thedesigns of others, preparing bid documents including drawings andspecifications, and organizing all drawings, reports, calculations,and associated project deliverables, after receiving initial instructionsfrom project manager, while receiving limited supervision.Must become knowledgeable of Merrick procedures, understand them and be ableto apply them when required.Candidate must be capable of making sound engineering decisions, exerciseinitiative, judgment and knowledge commensurate with the responsibilities ofthe position.The successful candidate must possess good interpersonal skills to effectivelyinterface with clients and Local, State, and Federal government agenciesand be capable to lead project progress meetings, make projectpresentations, and provide clear written communications.Additional duties may involve project management for projects.Some travel may be required.Required ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an A.B.E.T.Accredited School. Master's degree preferred.Zero (0) - four (4) years of experience in the design and constructionoversight of water and/or wastewater systems.Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.Experience with any of the following is a plus:Water/Sanitary Sewer modelingBioWin ModelingGIS Systems and ProgramsWater and wastewater systemsPublic works design experience with local, State and Federal governments isa plus.Local candidates preferredA valid driver's license, a clean MVR record and evidence of insurabilityis required.Physical RequirementsRequires the ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation.Be able to work in an environment with open discussions and visitors withoutgetting distracted.May be required to lift up to 20 lbs.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilitiesto perform the essential functions.Meets expectations for attendance and punctuality.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must bemet by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of thisjob.Work EnvironmentOccasional travel to client facilities and project sites require ability toclimb ladders, inspect without entering below grade confined spaces and bephysically mobile in and around water and wastewater facilities as well asbeing able to open gates and access ways.Additional informationApply online only.
