　　Currently ManTech is seeking a Chief Scientist III (Critical Sector S&T Analysis and Capability Gap) to join our team supporting our growing Defense Sector and Marine Corps programs.

　　Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

　　Engaged in initiating, designing, developing, executing, and implementing scientific research projects within a wide range of scientific disciplines.

　　Develops theories for understanding, characterizing, and organizing natural phenomena into a systematic and meaningful pattern for research into potential new products.

　　Performs the functions of a technical expert in applied scientific research and research and development (R&D) in the support of major programs or system development.

　　Applies scientific expertise in defining and resolving system issues, performing analysis, and developing plans and requirements in the subject-matter area for complex systems.

　　Gathers, identifies, and relates data to conduct analysis of management problems and requirements in support of mission critical projects.

　　Coordinates and manages the preparation of analyses, evaluations, and recommendations for proper implementation of programs and systems.

　　Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Has extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and independently performs a wide variety of complicated tasks.

　　Proactively identifies and solves the most complex problems; uses game-changing methods to think beyond existing solutions.

　　Conducts complex logical analysis of management problems and management information requirements and formulates mathematical models.

　　Contributes to the development of new principles, concepts, and methodologies.

　　Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides highly innovative and ingenious solutions.

　　Recognized as an external thought leader within a strategic area. Influences the strategy to address internal or external business, vendor and/or regulatory issues.

　　Thinks independently and demonstrates exceptional written and oral communications skills.

　　Applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts.

　　Provide consultation on complex projects and is the top-level contributor/specialist.

　　Leads highly visible multi-disciplinary project teams or initiatives; provides thought leadership.

　　Experience:

　　At least 12 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

　　Familiar with a variety of scientific concepts, practices, and procedures.

　　Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and independently performs a wide variety of complicated tasks.

　　May provide consultation on complex projects and is the top-level contributor/specialist.

　　Lead and direct the work of others. Report to an executive or director.

　　Education:

　　Master’s degree in STEM field preferred. and/or Ph.D.Security Clearance:

　　Active Secret Security ClearancePhysical Requirements:

　　The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

　　The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office.

　　The person in this position will need to be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
