Refining approachable dining in a lifestyle hotel, Pier One Sydney Harbour is looking for a culinary partner to curate an Australian coastal inspired destination, inspired by local flavors and seasonal produce. At the core of everything we do; we commit to a locally sourced mindset, and a commitment to sustainability. You will be accountable for overall success of the daily kitchen operations. You’ll be able to exhibit culinary talent by personally performing tasks while leading the associates and managing all food related functions. You will work continually to improve guests’ and associate’s satisfaction while maintaining strong kitchen commercials. Driving all kitchen areas to ensure consistent, high-quality product delivery and exceptional guest satisfaction will be one of your main responsibilities whilst guiding and developing younger culinary talent.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Ensure culinary standards and responsibilities are exceeded.
Manage the kitchen operations and ensure compliance, estimate daily production, assists Executive Chef and Executive Sous chef with overall kitchen operations.
Leading kitchen operation such as supervise and coordinate activities of young talent, leads the shifts while personally prepare food items, encourage and build mutual trust and respect and maintains the productivity levels and recognize success performance.
Ensuring exceptional customer service such as ensuring quality standards on a daily basis, interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service level and handle guests’ problems and complaints.
Maintaining Culinary Goals such as develop specific goals and plants to prioritize, organize and accomplish work and utilize the labor management system to effectively schedule to business demands as well as train associates in safety procedures.
Manage and conduct Human Resources Activities such as identify the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring or helping others to improve their knowledge or skills or bring issues to attention to the HR department.
