Responsibilities
The Chair, HR Total Rewards is accountable for the leadership, development and execution of Mayo Clinic's Total Rewards programs with expertise in Compensation and Benefits strategy and programmatic development. The Chair is a member of the executive HR team and is responsible for administrative oversight and management of Mayo's Compensation and Benefit programs. The HR Chair will also partner with Senior leadership of Mayo Clinic Health System (MCHS) advising and coaching on driving decisions aligned with Mayo Clinic values, policies and procedures. The HR Chair will work closely with a client centric team to achieve these goals.
The Chair must demonstrate comprehensive understanding of inter-relationships of functional areas and how to enhance people, financial and overall performance. Leads future oriented strategies that support Mayo’s “category of one” position. Promotes continuous process improvement that drives efficiency and supports customer needs. Ensures oversight and compliance with Mayo’s policies, labor laws, and government regulations. Accountable for overall operating budget and financial performance across multiple functional areas within the HR Department.
As a member of the HR executive leadership team, works collaboratively to support the mission, vision and values of the department and the organization. The HR Chair will also coach and mentor staff for peak performance. Acts as a key advisor on human resources issues for executive leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related subject. Five years proven track record of strong leadership performance, successful innovation, and change management, as well as five years managing professional staff. Must have strong references and demonstrated competencies in Compensation and Benefits in a dynamic and complex organization, leading transformation, and taking calculated risks. Master’s degree strongly preferred.
