DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Certified Peer Specialist, you will serve as a role model for recovery. You will be an advocate for our consumers by providing information and support while they're in treatment and helping them to regain control of their own lives through the recovery process. Alongside a dynamic team of professionals, you will assist consumers in identifying their personal goals for recovery, determining the steps that should be taken, and providing guidance in the provision of education and support necessary to attain their goals. Ideally, you will have knowledge of mental health services and accessibility requirements and will stay abreast of social, educational, and recreational services and activities available in the community.
