Internship Program Overview:
Our Interns & Co-ops are our entry-level talent pipeline for GF acrossthe globe. Our goal is to provide students with a meaningful workexperience that will equip them with the skills to embark on a career inthe fast-paced and growing semiconductor industry after graduation. Summary of Role:
As an Industrial Engineering intern, you work closely with ourengineering team on projects that drive standardization and efficiencyacross multiple GF factories. Work includes data analysis and problemsolving to find opportunities that improved capacity modeling, reduceoperating costs, improve cycle time or identify efficient factory spaceutilization. This position requires an individual with strong analyticaland problem-solving skills. This position will be located atGLOBALFOUNDRIES in Essex Junction, Vermont.
Essential Responsibilities include:
Projects may include analyzing the performance of the factory (suchas OEE, throughput and cycle time); simplify Industrial EngineeringCapacity Processes; identify and support cost savings opportunities;documentation of improved processes; or providing code to managesets of data.Work directly with the existing skilled Industrial Engineering teamand stakeholders on other factory teamsCommunicate effectively across teams in manufacturing operations,quality, engineering and maintenance. Participate in problem solvingsessions, including lean methodologies and value stream mapping.Learn about a leading-edge semiconductor wafer manufacturingfacility and factory physicsApply their Industrial Engineering and programming skills to realwork manufacturing data systemsOther Responsibilities:
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and supportall Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, andprograms.Structured problem solvingRequired Qualifications:
Education - At least a sophomore at time of application and activelypursuing a Bachelor\'s or Master\'s in Industrial Engineering orrelated field through an accredited degree program during the timeof internship.Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academicstanding.Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)Travel as needed - Up to 10%Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.Preferred Qualifications:
Prior internship or co-op experience in Industrial Engineering orrelated Manufacturing operationsProject management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and executeon solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.Strong written and verbal communication skillsStrong planning & organizational skillsData analytical skills to simplify large amounts of data.#InternshipProgramUS
