JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Swing Driver will safely operate one or morevehicle types including Front End, Roll Off, Residential and othertrucks utilizing various collection methods to service customers in asafe and efficient manner. Deliver collected solid waste or recyclablesto landfill, MRF or transfer station. Fill in for various routes asneeded to ensure consistent service. Compensation-\$26-\$30/hour KeyResponsibilities: Operate one or more vehicle types with both automaticand standard transmission and collect solid waste, yard waste and/orrecyclables on a collection route. Route may vary daily based on serviceneeds. Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety lane inspections andreports, daily truck report, route sheets and other documentationrequested by supervisor daily. Communicate vehicle mechanical problemsto mechanic and supervisor immediately. Operate truck and equipmentusing prescribed techniques to eliminate driver-induced mechanicalfailures. Follow all safety standards, equipment checks and precautionsin performance of all duties. Comply with all federal, state/provincial,local and company rules on safety and vehicle operation. Maintain cleanvehicle by cleaning cab interior and exterior of vehicle. Manageassigned Helper(s) if applicable Conform in all respects with applicablefederal, state/provincial and local laws, regulations, ordinances andother orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives fromsupervisors. Ensure that all required personal protective equipment beworn at all times (i.e., gloves, reflective vest, safety glasses, workboots, etc.) Report all accidents or incidents to supervisor(s)immediately Exhibit a professional demeanor, manner and appearance atall times (i.e., meeting customers and/or the general public while onroute or in uniform.) Maintain accurate records of services performed.Perform extra or special pick-ups. May be needed to complete routeobservations on all routes on a pre-determined basis, document findingsand provide report to immediate supervisor. Stop service directives.Develop directions to new accounts. May assist with training otherDrivers. Attend safety and branch meetings. Perform other duties andresponsibilities as required or requested by management. Requirements:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired.
