About the Position:
This role will be responsible for crafting compelling sell-in stories, serve as the expert on POS performance, market trends, competitors’ performance and future market projections. Key to success in role is synthesizing business trends, competitive trends, etc., to drive category growth and serve as a consultative partner to internal & sales teams. This role requires experience, independence, and a drive to identify opportunities through analytics + insights.
Responsibilities:
Prepare clear, concise storytelling presentations based on analytics to support the growth of the VMS category and Onnit.
Build selling decks and necessary materials for customer meetings, including but not limited to sell-in stories, monthly meetings, and line reviews using customer-specific and syndicated data.
Conduct analyses and synthesize multiple data sources to generate insights and actionable recommendations while leveraging effective communication with the HQ and Retailer Facing Teams.
Influence and inform category strategies around Assortment, Merchandising, Pricing, and Shelving to identify opportunities and provide potential solutions that align with retailer and company objectives.
Develop analyses and insights that contribute to internal & external needs, including SKU rationalization, item defense, new item sell-in, category reviews, new item tracking, consumer behavior, etc.
Collaborate with multiple internal cross-functional teams and customer-facing teams on business opportunities and develop both strategic and tactical solutions.
Provide ad-hoc category management reporting, trend analysis, customized reports, and special project work for the ONNIT cross-functional team and key stakeholders.
2-4 years of experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) with a focus on category management (preferred)
Experience in leveraging data resources with advanced proficiency in using Syndicated Data (Circana), IRI, and SPINS
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Storytelling and effective communication skills & follow-through
Ability to convert information, numbers, and data into insight for actionable growth
Desire to work in ambiguity and thrive in a dynamic, multi-project, deadline-driven environment
Highly organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
