Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Cash Applications Specialist in Bronx, New York. As a Cash Applications Specialist, you will be a crucial part of our team in the food industry, tasked with handling accounts receivable and maintaining comprehensive records.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately and efficiently manage customer credit applications

• Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date customer credit records

• Address customer claims of invoice payment and conduct thorough research

• Handle charge backs, returns, and bad checks through effective research and processing

• Process daily credit card payments and maintain accurate records

• Record customer payments to the accounts receivable ledger in JD Edwards

• File check stubs and bank receipts in an organized manner

• Contribute to related special projects as needed

• Proactively monitor customer accounts and take appropriate actions when necessary. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role

• Proficient in using Accounts Receivable (AR) software

• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with J.D. Edwards software is required

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Possess problem-solving and analytical skills

• Ability to work in a team environment

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and software

• High school diploma or equivalent educational level

• Prior experience in a financial role is a plus

• Knowledge of basic accounting principles
