POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the EHS/HS Education Director,has responsibility for the daily oversight of center operations,including assurance of compliance with Head Start Performance standards,EEC Licensing regulations & standards established to assure ahigh-quality program. This position also has oversight of facilityhealth & safety standards & works with facility staff to ensurecompliance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Recruit, hire, train, support,schedule, supervise, evaluate & develop, staff, complying withapplicable laws & regulations. Ensure all documentation is forwarded toEHS/HS Education Director &/or human resources. Ensure teaching staffprogress towards educational requirements as mandated by the Head StartPerformance Standards. Arrange & facilitate regular meetings with staff& provide for mandated trainings & updates to policies & procedures.Monitor, report & provide feedback for all employee related accidents.Establish & monitor regional systems & services that ensure programquality & compliance with Head Start Performance Standards. Submitmonthly reports on direct service activities & status to the EHS/HSEducation Director. Monitor, evaluate & provide training of classroomvolunteers. Ensure program compliance with codes of all state & locallicensing agencies & grant requirements. Attend case managementmeetings, consultations, & staff meetings as necessary. Observe children& provide suggestions for behavior management & education programming tomeet the individual needs of all children. Monitor home visitingcomponent. Monitor & manage center inventory, financial operations,annual budgets. Assist with budget development. Arrange for services inall functional areas, utilizing internal & external resources to providemedical, social, mental health, educational, & special services asdeemed appropriate, as well as facility maintenance. Monitor & managethe maintenance & safety of facilities & availability of supplies.Request facility maintenance/repairs in a timely fashion & communicatecritical needs immediately. Identify & assure remediation of anyfederal, state, local non-compliances or risk management health & safetyconcerns found in Ongoing Monitoring & self-assessment & incorporatesrecommendations into planning for the improvement of the program. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor\'s degree in childdevelopment, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, ChildGuidance, Human Services, Nursing, Psychology, Physical Education,Recreation, Child Psychology, the Arts, Social Work, Sociology, orChildcare. Meet Massachusetts Department of Early Education & Care (EEC)requirements as a Director II & Large Group School Age ProgramAdministrator. CPR & First Aid certifications required. At leastone-year experience in one of the following areas: early childhoodeducation, child health, mental health, or fields of disabilitiesservices At least one-year experience as a preschool or infant/toddlerteacher or supervisor. Two years related experience preferred as acoordinator or supervisor of childcare programs. Two years demonstratedexperience in budget management, staff supervision, & training & programdevelopment. Prefer experience with Head Start. Experience withconnecting to community resources & parent involvement in early edprograms. Experience with early education licensing standards as well asstandards of other regulatory bodies preferred. Experience withDevelopmentally Appropriate Practice, cultural diversity, & inclusion.Experience working in Bilingual settings (Spanish/English) preferred.
