Basic Job Functions:
For bulk vessel cargo logistics, work with various external customers from international consumers/suppliers, customs brokers, freight broker/vendors, stevedores, agents, internal sales, and other Nucor divisions to ensure shipment arrives timely to discharge port and transloads, as necessary.
For bulk vessel cargo logistics, analyzes daily vessel status to ensure costs are up to date to ensure profit margins are maintained. Analyze data for cost savings.
Maintain various bulk vessel cargo data in reports for use by Cargo Trading Group, Logistics Group or Management.
For assigned bulk vessel cargoes, initiates the billings, costing, payments, accounting adjustments and transfers, customer service, final settlements, and analyzes and allocates margins. Follows up with appropriate personnel to ensure the Cargo Transaction system is being used effectively, including the timely input of information.
Updates, reviews, and analyzes various reports and initiates the handling and resolution of certain outstanding items.
Communicates daily with and serves as administrative liaison between customers and all other DJJ/Nucor departments.
Responsibility for supporting and assisting, including serving as backup, to other personnel in Cargo Transaction as they complete their various tasks.
Processes data directly into multiple software systems.
Assists Manager and Cargo Trading Group in evaluating our existing Cargo system and controls to provide ongoing system and process improvements to maximize the efficiency of the cargo administration.
Performs other duties/projects as assigned by division management.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business or Transportation/Logistics or the equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to work under general supervision, exhibiting independent thinking skills and problem-solving initiative
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to work in a team environment
Highly motivated with strong analytical and organizational skills
Proficient with personal computer and Microsoft related products
Ability to perform in a diverse, fast-paced, detail-oriented atmosphere of changing priorities
Rotate with your team on call as needed to share responsibilities on evenings and weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of letters of credit and import/export procedures is a plus
Knowledge of Incoterms and geographical location of countries and ocean ports is a plus
Experience in bulk cargo logistics and transportation preferred
Working knowledge of barge transportation is a plus
