Position Summary InformationPosition Summary Reporting directly to a Director of Program Administrator
The purpose of this position is to help MCC students in workforce programs experience success through achieving their educational and career goals. This position is responsible for providing proactive advice and student enrollment for students with declared programs; promoting academic and/or financial independence skills to students, making referrals to other appropriate program or department representatives, external agencies; and other related duties as assigned.Minimum Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function, duty and accountability satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Progression from Level I to II is not required.
Level I:1. Associates or equivalent combination of education and experience in business/industry, human services, education or a related field.2. One (1) year of professional experience in a related role in education, human services, or business.Level II (Starting salary 10% higher than Level I):1. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in business/industry, human services, education or a related field.2. Three (3) years of professional experience in a related role in education, human services, or business.Experience with administering assessment, and developing individual development plans.
Minimum Qualifications that apply to both levels:1.Must possess good organizational skills and be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to appropriately use and demonstrate proficiency at the Basic level of MS Word and Excel, including web-based software and resources.
Previous experience working with grant or performance-based programs with a record of successfully meeting outcomes and metrics.Additional Desirable Qualifications 1. Previous experience working with grant or performance based programs with a record of successfully meeting outcomes and metrics.
Prior experience working with adult learners.
Job Development and/or job placement experience preferred.
Prior experience working in, or with, staffing, HR or placement industry.Physical Requirements/Working Conditions Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.The person in this position needs to move about both inside the office and at other locations where interviews and meetings are conducted.Frequently operates a computer for extended periods of time.Frequently communicates with others over the phone and in person; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.Ability to speak clearly and communicate proficiently in English.Work Schedule Must be willing to work 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays, and evenings or weekends as needed.
