As a Career Advisor, you will help bridge the gap between job seekers and employers in our community by applying and growing your knowledge of workforce development programs, services, policies, regulations, legislation, and procedures. For job seekers, you will conduct vocational and career assessments, provide group and individual career guidance, and identify appropriate tools and resources for job seekers to achieve employment goals. Work will be conducted through case management, workshops, and other orientation services to coordinate support with other providers and track progress toward goals. For employers, you will provide services including analyzing workforce needs and skill set requirements, referring qualified job seekers, and proposing hiring strategies to address workforce issues.
You will connect job seekers and employers by providing both with current and customized labor market information through PA CareerLink online, assisting job seekers with enrollment and employers with registration. When you promote our services to jobseekers, employers, the public, and service providers by coordinating marketing activities with the media, community organizations, schools, and other entities, you can help job seekers find family sustaining jobs and employers find the skilled candidates that they need. Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Chester.Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:Successful completion of the Career Advisor Trainee (commonwealth title) training program; orOne year of experience interviewing the public to collect and identify customer needs, evaluating eligibility for programs, and researching data to make decisions, and a bachelor's degree; orAn equivalent combination of experience and training.
