This position creates accessible course materials in Canvas. These hourly staff will work with the Canvas Support Supervisor and the Executive Director of WSU Online to monitor trends,gather reports,and complete work orders. Job duties include:Collaborating with faculty who need accessibility supportGathering data and create reports on accessibility efforts in CanvasRemediating course files,or in other words,reformatting PDFs,MS Word docs,and online presentations so they are recognized and properly structured for screen reader softwareAssist with closed captioning of videos in CanvasAssist with creating and properly coding alternate text (alt text) for digital imagesCollaborate with the Disabilities Office and the Library to create accessible and copyright free contentProvide backup technical support for the on-site Canvas Support DeskAdhere to government regulations,university standards,department policy surrounding the usage and sharing of personal and sensitive data.
