Job Details Our Cancer Care Coordinator will: Be responsible for coordinating cancer committee and breast program leadership meetings and all cancer conferences Report data to the NYS Department of Health via the Health Commerce System and the National Cancer Database (NCDB) Monitor and maintain compliance with the American College of Surgeons (AcoS) Commission on Cancer (CoC) standards and the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) Maintain current knowledge in cancer abstracting coding rules, guidelines, and regulations Monitor quality control assuring that quality data is maintained in the cancer registry database Retrieve and compile core information from the patient charts, and identify all reportable cases Code, edit, and enter cases into the cancer registry database Prepare statistical reports for medical staff, administration, public and external affairs, etc. Participate in recruitment, hiring and training of staff Actively be involved in planning and project implementation for the department- ensuring timely completion of tasks and projects Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the interdisciplinary team including, but not limited to, attending physicians, outside contacts, and other staff members What you’ll bring: Prior Cancer Registry experience Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the standard operating procedures for the provision of cancer registry Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, surgical procedures, anti-neoplastic agents and radiation therapy required. Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field required Certification: Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR)/ Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) required This is a hybrid position that will require time to be worked on-site at the facility, as well as remote based work Salary Range USD $40.00 - USD $50.00 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
