  When you join PPGNY as the Campus Organizing Coordinator you are responsible for coordinating and executing our Planned Parenthood Generation Action (PPGen) program. The PPGen program is a network of young activists who organize events on their campuses and in their communities to mobilize advocates for reproductive freedom; raise public awareness about reproductive health, rights and justice; educate young people about sexual health; and create lasting change in their communities. Our PPGen program includes approximately 15 campus chapters spread throughout our affiliate region. Engaging both in online and in-person Organizing, the Campus Organizing Coordinator will play a vital role in furthering our PPGNY External Affairs Mission within our campus communities. The Campus Organizing Coordinator will develop strategies and activities to build student leadership and advocacy skills. As a member of the PPGNY External Affairs Department, the Campus Organizing Coordinator, in partnership with our Organizing Team, will lead in supporting a strong PPGen program across our affiliate region.

  · Travel: This is a full-time position located within New York State and involves travel throughout the PPGNY regions (NYC, Nassau County, Mid-Hudson Valley, Greater Capital Region, Mohawk Valley, and Southern Tier) about 30% of the time.

  · Supervisory Responsibilities: Supports with the supervision of student leaders to ensure the Campus Organizing work is well resourced and supported to carry out the PPGNY External Affairs Mission while using a sexual reproductive justice and health equity lens.

  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  PPGen Action Program Coordination (35%)

  Work closely with Director of Organizing to execute our FY24 PPGen Program Plan; prioritizing meeting all goals and metrics.

  Strategic planning: Work closely with our Public Affairs leadership to develop PPGen goals that are in line with our larger Public Affairs campaigns and integrate into our PPGen programming.

  Training facilitation: Lead regular PPGen Leader meetings and trainings to support volunteer leadership and Campus Organizing development.

  Attend local, state, and national Planned Parenthood trainings and conferences.

  Campus Organizing (30%)

  Support Community Organizers who are holding PPGen chapter relationships and campus programming.

  Support PPGen chapter student leadership in subregions where we do not have Organizers on the ground.

  Mentor PPGen chapters in planning and executing intersectional advocacy work.

  Recruit PPGen chapters to register for PPFA and PPGNY trainings.

  Work closely with our BIPOC Organizing Coordinator to integrate Black and Latine Organizing into Campus Organizing.

  Mentor student leaders on our Planned Parenthood brand, messaging, and centering equity & accessibility in our advocacy work.

  Work closely with PPGen chapters to support the development of data tracking systems.

  Execute quarterly PPGen goals and metrics.

  Administration and Digital Organizing (20%)

  Oversee the completion of the mid-year and final year PPFA PPGen reports.

  Generate and end of year PPGen newsletter with our Communications Team.

  Oversee the tracking of all PPGen chapter programming.

  PPGen budget administration: Budget planning and tracking all expenses.

  Submit check requests and make payments on behalf of our PPGen program.

  Input all student leader engagement in our affiliate database, VAN.

  Maintain our PPGen Slack space.

  Monitor the backend of our PPGen interest form from our website and administer follow-up.

  Support with maintaining Organizing Team’s digital Organizing platforms.

  Local Organizing (10%)

  Support general local community outreach and engagement efforts as necessary and needed by Organizing Team.

  Maintain swag and placard supplies at your home office.

  Collaborate with other departmental PPGNY community-facing teams as necessary.

  Support rapid response local actions as necessary.

  Public Leadership & Speaking (5%)

  Gain a deep understanding of our PPGNY Action Fund branding and messaging. Ability to articulate information about our advocacy work, Constituency programs, Public Affairs campaigns, and messaging from the PPFA Office in times of national movement and rapid response.

  Serve as a speaker on behalf the PPGNY Action Fund at rallies and on panels, both in-person and virtually.

  QUALIFICATIONS

  Experience Related Capability Requirements:

  Requires two (2) to five (5) years of related and/or applicable organizing experience in a political or social issues and a proven ability to motivate, train, and develop other leaders, especially volunteers with historically disenfranchised or marginalized populations. Must have a strong interest in reproductive health and rights advocacy; must be enthusiastic and familiar with online tools and tactics; must have strong written, verbal and organizational skills; must have proven ability to set and meet clear goals. Working knowledge of on-line advocacy systems a plus.Minimum education

  High school diploma/GED Minimum work experience

  o 2+ years of related and/or applicable organizing experience, including digital organizing, and a proven ability to motivate and train volunteersPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  Proficient in EveryAction/VAN

  Working knowledge of Zoom platform and online systems.

  Experience working across multiple political entities

  Bilingual Spanish-speaking
