JOB REQUIREMENTS: YMCA Camp Glacier Hollow, in Central Wisconsin, offerssafe, fun, resident overnight and day camps for youth, fostering growthand development. Resident and Day Camp Counselor/Naturalists are theprimary care providers and mentors for our campers. Counselors areresponsible for individualized camper care, carrying out overall campprogram operations, teaching traditional camp and environmentaleducation activities, maintaining program equipment and general facilitycleanliness. WORK SCHEDULE: The Stevens Point Area YMCA has a fullschedule of programs during the summer months, including programs thatcontinue on some weekends and holidays. Typical schedule forCounselors/Naturalists is MonFri (Day Camp) or SunFri (Overnight Camp)with flexibility and will include day, evening, some overnight andweekend times. A schedule will be arranged in advance. WAGES: Paystarting at \$435 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)from approximately May 19August 30, 2024. Room and 3 meals/day areprovided during staff training, for overnight camp staff and for daycamp overnights. Lunch provided for all day camp staff. ***** OTHEREXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Training and/or experience in one or moreof the following areas are desired: camp counseling, team building,experiential or environmental education, outdoor adventure/recreationalactivities, waterfront supervision, arts & crafts, campfires, and fieldsports. Previous leadership experience and/or desire to work with youthand teens is required. Must be a positive role-model, flexible,energetic, dedicated and a responsible team player. Must be 18 or older.Must be able to lead and participate with groups of campers in variousphysical activities in various indoor/outdoor settings. Such activitiesinclude traditional camp activities, canoeing, team building, swimming,and other sports and activities.
