Responsible for providing meals, ourFood Service Kitchen Staff\'s primary function is to ensure each member,guest and visitor receives the highest caliber of service! Under thedirect supervision of the Camp Food Service Manager, the Camp Cookprepares and cooks meals according to standards set forth by the camp,YMCA, County and State. When working shifts apart from the food servicemanager or as assigned, the Camp Cook is responsible for all mealrelated kitchen duties including overseeing food aides and dishwashers.Salary range is \$14.00-\$19.00 per hour depending on qualifications andexperience Flexible scheduling! Job Responsibilities: Manage all aspectsof food preparation including cooking and serving food according to setstandards Utilize a variety of cooking techniques: baking, sauteing,grilling, steaming, frying etc. Use a variety of kitchen equipment (i.e.slicer, ovens, griddles, mixers, knives, etc.) Quality control Maintaina clean kitchen at all times Be able to understand the details of menuplanning and substitute items as needed Assist with other kitchen dutiesas needed (i.e. dish washing if the group is small in size) Stock androtate inventory Follow and maintain health department standards forfood service Maintain temperature logs on all refrigerators/freezersOther duties as assigned by management Minimum and Required RequirementsMust be 18 years or older Must have high school diploma or equivalentwork/education experience Must have minimum 1 year of work experience infood service industry - previous experience as a cook preferred but notrequired Must have ability to follow oral & written instructionsWillingness to be trained in operating kitchen equipment Willingness tobe trained and follow food service sanitation practices Be able to haveand maintain positive relationships with all customers from point ofcontact Must be able to stand on feet for extended period of time; walkstairs; lift up to 50lbs.
