Overview:

Receive and verify notification of debtor death. Contact attorneys or executors to find out intentions for the debt.

Primary Responsibilities:

Depending on debtor intentions, continue to manage account until payment is received on both secured and unsecured accounts.

Prepare analysis of collateral to determine potential loss mitigation options and/or default resolution.

Negotiate loss mitigation options including settlements, short-sales, refinancing, etc.

Manage the Probate Finder relationship, and make recommendations for process improvements.

Perform skip-tracing.

Order title searches and contact Credit Bureau or analyze credit reports to validate lien position.

Determine if there is life insurance on the account, then gather appropriate information as necessary in order to file a claim; follow-up with insurance company for resolution.

Monitor daily file from Probate Finder, research notifications and estate matches, manage the Proof of Claim and satisfaction of claim process.

Receive and distribute incoming mail.

Accept incoming calls from a variety of stakeholders, and determine appropriate action.

Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.

Maintain MT internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Complete other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:

This position involves customer contact and collections activity.

Education and Experience Required:

A combined 3 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 1 year experience in collections or customer service.

Experience with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.

Detail oriented.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Education and Experience Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree.

Knowledge of MT Bank systems.

MT Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $18.57 - $30.95 Hourly (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
