The Business Line Leader – Distribution Sales and Marketing Vice President will develop the marketing and growth strategies for the Banjo North American Distribution/Retail Channel and will sit on the Banjo Senior Leadership Team. The Vice President will lead a team of sales and marketing professionals to achieve sales targets and deploy successful marketing campaigns. The position will report directly to the Banjo President and may work in the Crawfordsville, IN location or remotely in one of the Banjo territories.
Sales
Provide input to Banjo’s AOP and strategic plans by providing new product and service ideas, market trends, geographic market data, and competitive intelligence
Lead the Distribution Sales Team in identifying and executing profitable growth opportunities. Differentiate and drive growth through winning initiatives to displace competition at target accounts, increasing share and market penetration.
Review sales data regularly and implement programs and countermeasure to meet and exceed sales goals
Enable sustainable sales execution through a repeatable commercial process. Develop and deploy meaningful, consistent VOC and customer scorecards to focus and improve commercial performance.
Build impactful customer relationships to grow business and margin while delivering value to the customers.
Assist SIOP process with demand forecasts from sales team and other incoming customer intelligence
Marketing
Expand and solidify Banjo solutions and pricing strategy to drive value creation and margin expansion
Provide impactful data analytics and market insights to business leadership to assist in strategic business development, lead generation and sales strategies.
Conduct and implement annual pricing review including margin analysis, competitive benchmarking and global commodity trend analysis
Deploy successful marking campaigns, from ideation to implementation
Oversee marketing material, including website and social media content as well as hard copy items including brochures and catalogs.
Prepare and manage marketing budget
With a proven servant leadership style, the Vice President is expected to attract, develop, motivate and lead a high performance team while furthering a collaborative culture and ensuring the core values of the company are upheld. The Sales and Marketing team consists of a team of territory-based Sales Managers, Marketing communication and Channel Managers as well as inside sales/technical support based both remotely and in the Crawfordsville office. The Vice President will identify and develop required competencies for success and will enable a commercial and growth mindset and actions on the team.
Requirements
8+ years of distribution/channel sales and marketing management
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience. MBA preferred.
Experience in B2B sales in industrial components/systems
Business and financial acumen
Results driven with high personal accountability
Strong analytic skills leading to business and strategic insights
Influential communication / negotiation skills
Experience driving results through servant leadership and development of a highly-engaged team
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
