  ARA is actively recruiting an experienced, energetic business development professional to market our rapidly growing renewable fuels and petroleum upgrading technology business. We serve the renewable fuel and refining industries worldwide, offering technology licenses for a range of renewable feedstock pretreatment, renewable fuel production, and petroleum upgrading technologies.

  What you will do as a business development manager:

  The primary responsibility of this business development position is to expand the market for ARA fuels technologies.

  Business Development Manager Job Responsibilities:

  Expands market position by locating, defining, and developing new customers and new business opportunities.

  Conducts market research in related events, publications, and announcements to gain an understanding of trends and movers in the renewable fuels industry.

  Screens potential new customers by analyzing their market position, strategies, and financials.

  Develops negotiating strategies and positions by characterizing value propositions for technologies and customers.

  In this position, you will:

  Develop a detailed marketing strategy and execution plan including a customer call plan.

  Capture and interpret market intel (directly from customers and indirectly from publications, trade shows, and other sources) and share intel with others through regular communications and through entry into ARA’s customer resource management (CRM) system.

  Provide input into a long-range business plan and develop and maintain business relationships with domestic and international customers.

  Contact customers on a regular basis to understand their needs/plans and to help them understand how ARA technologies may help their efforts.

  Meet with customers, likely including regular travel through the continental US and occasional travel outside the continental US.

  Attend and represent ARA at conferences and trade shows.

  Participate in licensing negotiations with customers.

  Assist with preparation/delivery of briefings to ARA senior leadership.

  Collaborate with ARA subject matter experts to develop value propositions to customers.

  Business development manager requirements:

  Bachelor's degree or equivalent in chemical engineering, petroleum engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field

  Experience in technology development, business development, and licensing in the fuels industry

  Knowledge related to fuels refining and the licensing of fuels-related technologies

  Willingness to travel

  Proficiency in Microsoft Office
