Position Overview
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The purpose of the University Registrar is responsible for maintaining the integrity of all student academic records, admissions, and registration information. Inherent in that function is the responsibility of disseminating information from those records as needed but within compliance guidelines established both by law (such as the Buckley Amendment, FERPA – Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) and by University policy.
Primary Purpose of Position
The primary pupose of this position is to supervise, coordinate and implement new and/or improved functional and technical computer systems operations, especially with the Banner Student System.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstated knowledge of the Banner Student Module and of WEBFOCUS; knowledge of general office procedures; knowledge of registration and records in a higher learning institution. Must be able to write and execute WEBFOCUS adhoc or standard reports with accuracy; must be able to trouble shoot functional systems problems and coordinate solutions with appropriate technicians; must be able to demonstrate and apply understanding of general skills and practices associates with the Registrar system activities; must be able to develop a logical flow of simple applications; must be able to design input/output and file specifications; must be able to develop policy and procedures manuals as it relates to functional and technical system activities.
Minimum Education/Experience
Associate’s Degree in Computer Programming; or Bachelor’s Degree with nine credit hours in programming; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Demonstrates in-depth knowledge and ability to plan and organize priorities of the cyclical sequence of events for the Registrar’ Office as it relates to functional and system processes. Ability to develop policy and procedure manuals as it relates to functional and technical system activities. Ability to work independently and manage job responsibilities with minimal supervision and to adapt professionally to unanticipated situations.

Duties
Demonstrates ability to follow standard operating procedures to implement routine solutions of low to medium complexity for customer. Ability to develop a logical flow of simple applications and the ability to design input/output and file specifications. Ability to integrate knowledge and skills from other functional areas to address work assignments and problems of simple to medium complexity.

Duties
Demonstrates ability to resolve some non-routine problems. Applies technical understanding to the resolution of problems of medium complexity and demonstrates the insight to spot trends in reocurring problems and assisting in developing solutions.
