BOOK CLUB PROGRAM COORDINATOR

　　CLOSING *DATE: *1/31/2024

　　*PAY RATE: *$13.30 - $17.00/hour, depending on qualifications and/or experience

　　*SCHEDULE: *Part-time - up to 20 hours per week, Mondays-Thursdays teaching small groups of students 2:30-6:00 pm, Planning and/or preparation hours can be flexible (M-Th 8 am-6pm)

　　*DEPARTMENT: *Lehi Rippy Literacy Center

　　JOB SUMMARY

　　Teach small groups of 3rd & 4th grade students in an After-School tutoring setting.

　　Create a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere, strive to build student sense of engagement, and work to increase student reading skills through ownership of learning.

　　Focus on providing quality instruction for these classes using best practices, engaging lessons, and a passion for teaching/learning.

　　Provide collaborative one-on-one support to other book club staff members in the planning and implementation of curriculum.

　　Work with the Director to collect and analyze data; interpret and use the data to guide instructional decisions related to the book club program at the Lehi Rippy Literacy Center.

　　RESPONSIBLITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

　　Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

　　Communicate well with others.Model best teaching practices.Guide teachers to collect and analyze data.Develop action plans in response to student needs.Help to oversee the assessment procedure for placement of students.Work with the Director to create a center-wide focus on goals for reading achievement.Observe safety and security procedures: report potentially unsafe conditions.Oversee the lesson planning of the book club(s).Other duties as assigned by the Director.Supervisory Responsibilities:

　　Assist in the supervision of other teachers in the book club area.Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.Exhibit objectivity and openness to other's views.Give and welcome feedback.Contribute to building a positive team spirit.Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality when dealing with student, staff, and/or parent information.Must possess a knowledge of and understand the fundamental skills of teaching reading.
